As increasing older adults in American prefer to age in place, the issue of creating supportive neighborhood environments become a critical issue in urban planning. For older adults, social isolation is known to be highly related to health and mortality. Social isolation can be influenced by many factors, one of which is reduced mobility and characteristics of neighborhood environment. This study aims to examine the impact of 'opportunity to go to socializing space' on social isolation and loneliness in older adults.
