This project visualizes UMD's Global Terrorism Database (GTD). The GTD is composed of over 192,000 terrorist attacks between 1970-2018. The study utilizes Python for preprocessing and Tableau for visualization. The master GTD omits year 1993 and Python preprocessing is used to mitigate this.  The visualization methodology takes a funneled approach - getting more and more specific as it progresses. This methodology can be applied with adaptable parameters. In this research, global terrorism is mapped globally, a historical overview is created, followed by an Iraq Deep Dive, and ISIL Profiling procedure. A user-friendly Tableau Story is ultimately created and hosted in HTML. A user is able to identify countless trends and patterns with a beautiful visualization at their fingertips.
